Overview

Garrio needed a personal brand site that felt polished and credible without looking like a template — and without requiring a developer every time a sentence changed.

I designed and built the full experience in Framer.

The problem

Personal brand sites fail in two predictable directions. Template-based sites are quick but instantly recognisable as templates, which undercuts the authority the site exists to establish. Custom-developed sites solve that but create a dependency: every edit becomes a request, a wait and an invoice, so the site quietly goes stale.

For a single-owner brand where the site is the primary credibility asset, neither outcome is acceptable.

Constraints

Single-owner brand with launch speed mattering, content that had to stay editable after handover, and a requirement that the site feel genuinely premium on both desktop and mobile rather than merely acceptable on one.

Approach

I led with typography. On a personal brand site with limited visual assets, type does most of the work — it sets tone, establishes hierarchy and carries the sense of quality that would otherwise depend on photography or illustration. Confident scale contrast and disciplined spacing do more for perceived polish than decoration would.

Section hierarchy was structured so a visitor skimming for ten seconds still gets the essentials: who this is, what he does, why it is credible, how to make contact. Anyone reading properly gets depth; anyone skimming still leaves with the core message.

Conversion paths were kept direct. Rather than burying contact at the bottom, the path to connect recurs naturally at the points where a visitor is most likely to have decided.

The build uses a maintainable component structure so layout integrity survives editing. Garrio can change copy, swap images and add sections without breaking the design — the failure mode that makes most handed-over sites degrade within months.

Handover

Delivered with a component structure documented well enough to edit confidently. No developer dependency for routine changes.

Designing without a large asset library

Personal brand projects rarely arrive with an extensive photography or illustration library, and this one was no exception. That constraint shapes the design approach entirely: with fewer visual assets to lean on, type, spacing and structure have to carry the impression of quality on their own.

In practice that meant being decisive about scale contrast, disciplined about vertical rhythm, and generous with whitespace in places where a busier design would have filled the gap. Restraint reads as confidence; clutter reads as compensation.

Mobile as the primary surface

For a personal brand, a large share of visits arrive from a link shared in a message, a social profile or an email signature — which means phone-first, in a browser, often on a poor connection. Each breakpoint was designed rather than left to reflow, so the mobile experience is a deliberate composition rather than a compressed desktop layout.

Built to stay current

The most common failure for a site like this is not a bad launch — it is a good launch that slowly goes stale because updating feels risky. The component structure was built so that editing copy, swapping an image or adding a section cannot break the layout. That is what keeps a personal brand site accurate a year later, which matters more than any launch-day detail.

Outcome

A fast, professional Framer site that presents the personal brand with confidence and stays current, because updating it is genuinely easy.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of site is this?

A personal brand site for a professional service — the job is credibility and a clear path to contact, not volume of content. That means fewer pages, sharper copy, and a fast, uncluttered first impression.

How much does a personal brand site cost?

Typically the lower band — from $1,200 for a focused site. Cost is driven by page count and whether copy and photography are ready, not by how the design looks.

How long does one take?

Usually one to three weeks. Personal brand sites move quickly because there is one decision-maker and the content is already in their head.
