Migration · Webflow → Framer

Leave Webflow behind. Protect your rankings.

I rebuild the design system natively in Framer — visual fidelity kept, everyday editing unlocked for your whole team.

The SEO-preserving method

01 — Map

Full URL inventory and 301 redirect map before anything is built. Every page accounted for.

02 — Parity

Metadata, schema, and analytics carried over exactly — plus a redesign where the data says it pays.

03 — Prove

Pre/post crawl comparison and Search Console monitoring after launch, so any movement is caught early.

THE PIPELINE

Webflow is good. This is about fit, not rescue.

Moving off Webflow is not an upgrade in every dimension — Webflow wins on complex interactions and structured commerce. What Framer wins on is speed of change: how fast a marketing team can ship a page without a developer in the loop. If that is your bottleneck, the move pays for itself. If it is not, I will say so.

01

Audit

Every published URL, Collection, and CMS item catalogued, plus the interactions that actually matter.

02

Map

Collections map to Framer CMS. Fields rarely translate one-to-one, so the schema gets redesigned deliberately.

03

Rebuild

Design system rebuilt as Framer components. Webflow classes do not port — this is a rebuild, not an export.

04

Redirect

Webflow URL patterns differ from Framer. Every changed path gets a 301 before DNS moves.

05

Verify

Post-launch crawl diffed against the pre-launch baseline.

HONEST SCOPE

What transfers — and what has to be rebuilt.

Webflow and Framer are peers, which makes this migration different from the others: less about escaping limitations, more about trading one set of tradeoffs for another.

Transfers cleanly

URLs and structure, preserved or improved with a redirect map

CMS content — Collections become Framer CMS collections

Titles, meta descriptions and canonical tags, carried item by item

Static assets, re-exported at appropriate sizes

Forms, repointed to a provider of your choice

Has to be rebuilt

Webflow classes and the style system — Framer styles differently, so the design system is rebuilt not converted

Webflow Interactions. Most map to Framer effects, but complex timelines need rethinking

Custom code embeds, reviewed individually

Webflow Ecommerce — that stays on Webflow or moves to Shopify

Logic and Memberships, which have no Framer equivalent

RISK

Where Webflow migrations specifically go wrong.

Because both platforms are capable, teams assume the move is mechanical. It is not — and these are the four places I see it break.

CMS slug patterns differ

Webflow Collection URLs often sit at /blog/slug or /collection/slug. Framer routes are yours to choose, which means a decision on every collection path — and a redirect for every item if it changes.

Interactions treated as decoration

Some Webflow interactions carry real UX weight — sticky nav states, filter behaviour, reveal logic. Cataloguing them before the rebuild avoids “where did that go” after launch.

Assuming the design system converts

It does not. Classes, combo classes and inherited styles have no direct Framer equivalent. Budget for rebuilding the system, not porting it.

Forgetting Webflow was already redirecting

Existing 301s inside Webflow need folding into the new map, or you end up with chains that leak authority.

TIMELINE & COST

What it takes, and what it costs.

Fixed

quote before kickoff

Webflow migrations usually move faster than WordPress ones — the content is already structured, and there is no plugin archaeology to do. The quote follows a discovery call and a crawl of the existing site.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

“Zakir redesigned and migrated our entire company website from Webflow to Framer, great communication, strong design instincts, and the result exceeded expectations. He handled everything end-to-end: design, migration, SEO redirects, and extra landing pages for our ad campaigns.” — Dennis Chiratcu, CPA
