SQUARESPACE → FRAMER

Squarespace was the right call at ten pages. It isn’t at fifty.

Beautiful templates stop scaling the moment your content outgrows them. I move the site — and the blog, the collections and the rankings — onto a system you control.

[ WHY MOVE ]

What breaks when a Squarespace site grows

[ STAYING ON SQUARESPACE ]

Template logic that fights you the moment you need a layout it didn’t anticipate

Blog and collection URLs with structure you didn’t choose and can’t change

Blocks that limit what a page can be

Slow builds on content-heavy sites

Design changes that mean picking a new template and starting over

[ AFTER THE MOVE TO FRAMER ]

Layouts designed around your content, not a template’s assumptions

URL structure you control, with redirects handling the old paths

Components instead of blocks

Static output that stays fast as the library grows

Redesigns that are edits, not restarts

THE URL LAYER

Every old URL gets exactly one new home.

This is the deliverable most migrations skip: a 1:1 map from every URL that earns traffic to its destination, loaded and tested before DNS moves. No blanket redirect to the homepage — that reads as a soft 404 and drops the long tail.

[ QUESTIONS ]

Leaving Squarespace, answered.

Both export cleanly. Posts and collection items rebuild as Framer CMS collections, with slugs preserved where they earn traffic and redirected where they don't.

They're one of the better reasons to move. Every forced path segment gets mapped to a cleaner Framer URL with a 301 — you gain structure without losing equity.

Yes — keep checkout where it is and move the marketing site, or move commerce to Shopify and run the hybrid.

Two to four weeks for a typical 5–15 page site with a blog. Larger content libraries run four to eight.

Small sites where a template genuinely fits, or a team with no design capacity who value the guardrails. I'll say so on the audit.
